Russian Invasion of Ukraine Is A Political Godsend For Joseph Biden and Boris Johnson

Two corrupt and venal politicians, the top two politicians in the political power structures of the U.S. and UK respectively, have had a political life preserver tossed to them by Vladimir Putin. (Not that Putin intended that!) Yet the power establishment's "pundits," who spend so much time dissecting political minutiae, haven't deigned to take the slightest public notice of this obvious, major turn in the political fortunes of their "leaders," not in the U.S. anyway. (I haven't studied the UK media on this, but I suspect the same is largely true.) You see, there is a reason this blog is called "Taboo Truths."

Both of these ruthless, selfish individuals, with lifelong records of immoral and sometimes criminal behavior, were in deep political trouble prior to Putin's reckless and foolish move. 

For most of the past year, the chatterers of the U.S. media Blatherariat have been clucking their tongues like a bunch of malicious high school student gossips about how terrible Biden has been doing in the polls, with popularity around only 40% of the public, comparable to Trump's during his presidency. There has been a constant stream of yammering of the dire prospects for the Democratic Party in the 2022 Congressional elections and even the 2024 presidential one. Much ink has been spilled and much gas expelled criticizing the Democratic Party's failure to make itself more popular and to "sell its program" to "the American people."

Establishment power media chatterers said the party may be over for Smokin' Joe Biden.

Suddenly, along comes this great distraction, a foreign "crisis" that has absorbed almost all of the U.S. media propaganda system's attention. BIden, being the lifelong imperialist that he is, immediately started beating his breast and waxing moralistic about the blackness of Russia and the Evil Putin as contrasted with the purity and beauty of the U.S. and its bloc of "democracies" that love "freedom" so much. He and his subaltern lackeys running Europe (plus NATO frontman Jens Stoltenberg and even the ludicrous Justin Trudeau, prime minister of Canada, the U.S.' northern satellite nation) immediately and incessantly vomited forth an unending stream of high-handed, superior than thou denunciations of what they claimed was Putin "threatening to invade Ukraine." While this could be a reasonable inference as to Russia's intent (as indeed turned out to be the case) as a factual statement it was the opposite of reality, as  the Russians repeatedly denied they were going  to invade (while massing military forces along the Russian border with Ukraine). THey were either lying, or Putin changed his mind, but they NEVER THREATENED to invade Ukraine.

It doesn't matter, because BIden is now playing the role of "Leader of the Free World and Defender of Global Democracy" to the hilt. Thanks to the cooperation of most of the propaganda system excluding its neo-fascist organs like the Murdoch propaganda empire and others, Biden benefits from the rally-around-the-leader effect during a manufactured "crisis."  In point of fact, what happens in Ukraine CANNOT POSSIBLY BE A CRISIS FOR THE U.S. BECAUSE UKRAINE IS NOT A VITAL STRATEGIC AREA FOR THE U.S. It only matters because the U.S. is determined to shrink Russia down, to compress it as much as possible.

Unfortunately for the U.S., Russia is one of the two major nuclear weapons powers in the world, the other being the U.S., naturally. Between them, the two possess 93% of the world's nuclear weapons.
Now on to the British prime minister. Boris "Bojo The Clown" Johnson had seemingly been clinging to office as prime minister of Britain by his fingernails. A series of revelations of revelry and partying by him and his staff, in violation of COVID lockdown restrictions imposed by his regime, enraged the public. People had been prevented from visiting dying relatives by the restrictions. Revelations kept coming, with Johnson repeatedly lying, denying, playing dumb, and being just asinine, enraging people even more. (He's done this his whole life, and always gotten over with it, so he can be forgiven for sticking to habit.) Member of his own party, the "Conservaties" (also known as Tories) were publicly criticizing him, some advocating his replacement. (Britain has a parliamentary system, in which the party or coalition that controls Parliament, the legislature, gets to pick the prime minister, the chief executive of the nation.)

 Some wanted the PM to go!

Then, as a side effect of the Ukraine invasion, Vladimir Putin came to the rescue. For Bojo, Russia intimidated and then invaded Ukraine in the nick of time. Johnson has matched Biden in blistering rhetoric, self-righteously posing as an avatar of virtue against the Evil Putin, striving to outdo the stridency of Biden and calling for even stricter "sanctions" (economic warfare).

U.S. elites (political and media) and the ducks lined up behind them (Europe, Canada, Japan) consistently claimed to be "the world." Apparently Africa, Latin America, India, China, indeed almost all of Asia, aren't part of "the world."( Jair Bolsonaro, president of the largest nation in population  in the Western Hemisphere south of the U.S., even sided with Putin!) But don't you call them "racist!" (While the motivation for their hyperbolic lying maybe wasn't racist, the effect sure comes off that way!) 

But finally a bit of evidence to support the notion that "the world" sees things the U.S. way. 140 nations at any rate, which voted in the UN general assembly to denounce the Russian invasion. But 35 nations, presumably on earth and thus part of "the world," abstained, and 5 voted against: Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Syria, and Eritrea. All are easy to understand, except Eritrea isn't so obvious. Presumably they need Russia for something. The Assad dictatorship of Syria needs the Russian air force to stay in power. The Belarus' dictator needs Russia to prop him up, and has allowed Russian forces to stage on Belarus' soil to invade Ukraie. North Korea is North Korea, and has been under brutal economic siege enforced by the U.S., which has pushed sanctions through the UN over N.K.'s missile and nuclear weapons programs. No love lost there.

Bottom line: for both Biden and Johnson, the invasion of Ukraine is a tremendous blessing, with perfect timing to boot. And that's not a "cynical" statement, it's a TRUE statement reflecting REALISM. Taboo truths are are often branded "cynicism" by the power establishment's propagandists. Their other go-to epithet to suppress unwanted facts is "conspiracy theory." Be aware.

You Call This "Three-Dimensional Chess"? Putin's Boneheaded Invasion Of Ukraine Exposes U.S. Elites' Fatuous Blather

 

                                                         Putin: Chess Genius or Boob?

Over the years, a favorite propaganda trope of U.S. media "pundits," imperialist foreign policy apparatchiks and  "experts," and politicians scoring points against other politicians and presidents of the rival political party, has been that "Russia is playing chess" and the U.S. is playing checkers. Then imperialist yakkers trying to stand out in the babbling "foreign policy" mob hyped it up to "The Russians are playing three-dimensional chess," outclassing the asleep at the switch U.S. (This as the U.S. dominates the world, as it has done continuously since 1945.)

Well, if we're talking political strategy, Russian ruler Vladimir Putin is no chess Grandmaster. Incredibly, he has invaded Ukraine- for real this time. Western propagandists and politicians refer to this actual invasion as "another" invasion,  pretending Russia "invaded" the secessionist regions of Ukraine when in actuality they sent in small forces and aid to help defend the regions from attack by the Kyiv regime, which targeted apartment complexes and other civilian targets. Two new states were declared in 2014, which Russia only now recognized, putting U.S. president Joseph Biden into a state of high dudgeon. 

Unmentioned was the fact that for years, Russia has tried to bring about an accommodation between the Kyiv regime and the newly-declared Republics, whereby those Republics would be part of Ukraine but with some autonomy to protect their language and culture.  The Kyiv regimr signed the Minsk Accords, which called for ceasefire, yet the Kyiv regime has never stopped its military attack on the breakaway regions, killing over 10,000 people, committing many war crimes- targeting apartment buildings for shelling and bombing. (The twisted Western media refers to this as "Russian invasion" and a war forced on Kyiv!) 

Another tortured use of the word "invasion" is now even occasionally being applied to Russia and Crimea. Apparently calling it an "occupation" or "annexation" is too feeble a denunciation. Crimea is the site of a vital Russian naval base, which after the breakup of the Soviet Union, Russia leased from Ukraine. After the U.S. coup of February 2014 and the installation of a regime which immediately targeted Russian-speaking Ukrainians for repression, local Crimea parliament and then the citizens both voted to reunite with Russia. (The people voted 97% in favor, with the Tatar inhabitants, 15% of the populace there, boycotting the referendum.) AFTER that, the Russian Duma voted to reunite with Crimea. (Crimea had been part of Russia until 1954, when Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev transferred it to the Ukranian Soviet Socialist Republic, part of the U.S.S.R.)

Russia is landlocked for virtually its entire southern border. Crimea is on the Black Sea, through which ships can navigate to the Mediterranean Ocean and hence to the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Geostrategically, Russia had NO CHOICE but to make sure Crimea stayed in friendly hands. [To understand this, see my article with maps:  FOOTNOTE 1 BELOW.]

Why was it so dumb for Putin to invade Ukraine? I mean really invade. Because even if the Russian army successfully occupies it, it will have to stay there in force to prop up whatever government Russia installs. And it will be subjected to endless guerrilla warfare funded and armed by the U.S. and its Eurolackeys. It will be a bleeding wound, just as Afghanistan was for the Soviet Union. (Does Putin's pining for the defunct SU extend to its debacles?) And the "sanctions"- economic warfare- being waged by the U.S. and its lackeys will significantly damage the Russian economy and hurt its people. In fact, bringing misery to people is the main point of U.S. sanctions. The goal is to create discontent with the government and undermine it, hopefully to overthrow it, as the U.S. is trying to do to Venezuela and Iran, North Korea, Cuba for 60 plus years, and whoever else gets in its way or displeases it.

Ukraine as another Afghanistan brings to mind another interesting parallel. It has emerged that the U.S. WANTED the Soviets in Afghanistan to bleed their army and weaken the Soviet regime. Likewise, the invasion of Ukraine can only be destructive for Russia. The U.S. and its lackeys are doing much to wreck the Russian economy right now. And billions of people are being subjected to saturation, non-stop anti-Russian propaganda which is putting a saintly glow of plucky martyrdom around Ukraine, hiding the key role played by actual neo-Nazis in the regime and its wars. 

The truth is, the U.S. practically forced Russia to invade Ukraine. For weeks leading up to the invasion, the Russians reiterated the same demands they've been making since 1999, when the U.S. double-crossed them and expanded NATO into more nations, violating a deal made with Mikhail Gobachev, the last leader of the Soviet Union, in 1989. The U.S. publicly, adamantly refused to budge; Biden himself rejected the Soviet demand to keep Ukraine out of NATO. The U.S. had NATO announce in 2008 that Ukraine (and Georgia) would be welcomed into NATO. Infuriatingly, U.S. propagandists ignore what Putin actually "wants" and invent imaginary goals for him.

The second outrageous provocation was the U.S.-neo-nazi coup in 2014 that overthrew the elected president and replaced the government with one so hostile to everything Russian that it passed laws aimed at oppressing Russian-speaking Ukrainians. 

Here's the echo of Afghanistan: The Soviet Union was lured into invading Afghanistan by a dastardly plot of the Carter regime, masterminded by Carter's "National Security" Advisor, the Russia-despising Pole, Zbigniew Brzezinski. Brzezinski actually went to Afghanistan to put his fiendish plot in motion, and shortly thereafter the Soviets fell for it. Years later, Brzezinski slipped up and blurted out a boast about what he had done to a French publication, Le Nouvel Observateur [Paris], January 15-21, 1998, p. 76.:

Question: The former director of the CIA, Robert Gates, stated in his memoirs that the American intelligence services began to aid the Mujahiddin in Afghanistan six months before the Soviet intervention. Is this period, you were the national securty advisor to President Carter. You therefore played a key role in this affair. Is this correct?

Brzezinski: Yes. According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahiddin began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan on December 24, 1979. But the reality, closely guarded until now, is completely otherwise: Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention [emphasis added throughout].

Q: Despite this risk, you were an advocate of this covert action. But perhaps you yourself desired this Soviet entry into the war and looked for a way to provoke it?

B: It wasn’t quite like that. We didn’t push the Russians to intervene, but we knowingly increased the probability that they would.

Q : When the Soviets justified their intervention by asserting that they intended to fight against secret US involvement in Afghanistan , nobody believed them . However, there was an element of truth in this. You don’t regret any of this today?

B: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter, essentially: “We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war." Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war that was unsustainable for the regime , a conflict that bought about the demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.

Q: And neither do you regret having supported Islamic fundamentalism, which has given arms and advice to future terrorists?

B : What is more important in world history? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some agitated Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?

So these supremely cynical U.S. imperialist brought the world Islamofascism. And people tolerate their continuance in power, their continued rule over us all.

And next time you hear propagandists and politicians describing Putin as diabolically cunning, remember they are building up a bogeyman to distract the people in the countries they rule and to rally support for their own imperialist aggressions.

What Is A "Crisis?"

It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Iraq.
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Afghanistan.
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Haiti (again).
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Haiti (again).
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Panama.
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Grenada.
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Cambodia.
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Vietnam.
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Cuba (again).
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Lebanon.
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Haiti.
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Cuba.
It wasn't a crisis when the U.S. invaded Mexico (four or five times).

Countries have been invading countries for as long as they have existed. War and conquest are thousands of years old.

Ukraine is over 6,000 airmiles from the U.S. at the closest points. Ukraine is right next to Russia. Seems that Russia would naturally have a much greater interest in Ukraine than the U.S. should. Yet the U.S. insisted on making Ukraine a U.S. vassal state with the 2014 violent coup.
Russia was wrong to invade Ukraine- morally and politically. To quote Tallyrand,in strategic terms it's worse than a crime, it's a blunder. But the U.S. created the situation, both with its hostile takeover of Ukraine, and it's treachery towards Russia by breaking its promise not to expand NATO, instead relentlessly pushing it right up to Russia's borders and vowing to bring in Ukraine and Georgia as NATO nations. Russia has said scores of times that this is unaccepotable to them. The U.S. answer is the same as what U.S. apparatchik had to say about the EU in her infamous phone calll to U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Jeffrey Pyass- "Fuck the EU." It's "Fuck You Russia. You're too weak to stop us."

The biggest loser from U.S. arrogance and aggressiveness is Ukraine.

Republican Supreme Court Rules "Death To Workers!"

 Very predictably, the Republican Supreme Court denied the Biden regime permission to have OSHA [1] require companies employing 100 or more workers to require their employees to  be vaccinated against Covid-19 OR wear masks and get tested weekly. Hardly an onerous requirement, and no one is being forced to get vaccinated. You could see this one coming a mile away. HOWEVER The Supremes aren't taking any chances with their OWN health! They gave the executive branch a permission slip to allow Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra to require all health care workers at institutions that receive Medicare and Medicaid funding to be vaccinated, unless they get a medical or religious exemption.

After all, one of THEM might wind up in a hospital or clinic or doctor's office sometime!

The vote to emasculate OSHA was 6 to 3. The 6 Republican apparatchiks voted as a bloc. Disingenuously they said it was up to Congress to empower OSHA to mandate this, knowing full well that such a thing is impossible in the U.S. Senate as currently constituted. This is a ploy these cynics have pulled before, for example when they screwed Ledbetter out of a lifetime of stolen wages with an absurd decision. (That time Congress did act, unlike when the Republican Court gutted the 1965 Voting Rights act in two decisions and erased the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law from the books, opening the way to the stranglehold that reactionary billionaires currently have over U.S. electoral politics.)

The 3 Democratic appointed justices don't matter, despite media propagandists pretending they do, pretending there's some mystery about how the reactionary bloc will decide issues. The power establishment's propaganda system has made strenuous efforts to maintain the absurd fiction that this court is some kind of neutral judicial body when it is patently purely political, very partisan, and with an extreme rightwing ideology. The 6 reactionaries are mislabeled as "conservatives." The ACTUAL conservatives, that is, those who want to preserve the status quo, are the 3 mislabeled as "liberals."

The U.S. Supreme Court has been a Republican court since the regime of Richard Nixon (1969-1974). Nixon filled four of the nine seats on the court with reactionaries. Reagan in 1986 gave us the extreme reactionary Antonin Scalia, with 100% approval from the Democrats. The Senate voted to confirm Scalia 98-0! I was sick to my stomach when he was nominated, just reading The New York Times whitewashing version of how reactionary he was. (Ironically, then-Senator Al Gore voted to confirm Scalia, who later repaid the favor by cheating Gore out of the presidency in 2000 with four GOP (Gang Of Plunderers) accomplices on the high court. (Reagan had previously put Scalia on the Federal Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the most important appeals court in the Federal system. That was 1982, again with no obstruction from Democrats.)

After Reagan, Bush the Elder gifted us with sex offender Clarence Thomas, a black man with the mind of a white bigot. Here again the Democrats made sure to confirm this bitter right-wing fanatic to a lifetime appointment to one of the most powerful posts in the U.S. government. The Democrats controlled the Senate, and the chairman of the Judiciary Committee was none other than Senator Joe Biden (the same Joe Biden who is now president of the U.S.). Thomas used to sexually harass the women working for him. (Bush had made him head of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, for the purpose of sabotaging government anti-racial discrimination efforts- perversely, Thomas despises affirmative action even though he is black.) One of his victims, Anita Hill, testified to this, only to be savagely smeared in hearings by the Republicans, which Chairman Biden allowed. Privately Biden told the Senate Democrats not to believe Hill, and he blocked a number of corroborating witnesses from appearing. This is told in damning detail in the book Strange Justice: The Selling of Clarence Thomas, by Jill Abramson and Jane Mayer. They were reporters at the Wall Street Journal at the time, and later climbed higher up the media hierarchy ladder. Mayer became a staff writer for The New Yorker magazine, and Abramson the first female top editor at The New York Times, both publications being at the pinnacle of U.S. media prestige and influence.  Abramson then discovered she was being paid less than her predecessors and confronted her boss, publisher and scion of the Sulzberger family (that owns controlling interest in the corporation) Arthur Ochs "Pinch" Sulzberger Jr., about this, it peeved him, so he fired her and trashed her after that.

One other side note: Thomas' video porn viewing habits were revealed during his confirmation process by the simply expedient of getting his video store rental records. This prompted Congress to rush through a law protecting the privacy of such records. Congress can act when it's an emergency!

Then we come to the Obama rollover. In the last year of his presidency, a vacancy occurred on the court. The Senate boss at the time, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky (the Gang Of Plunderers held the Senate then) refused to allow confirmation hearings to even occur for Obama's nominee. This went on for eleven months. Then Trump was "elected." (Hillary Clinton beat him by 2.9 million votes total, but the Electoral College, the real electorate, elected Trump. Democracy as practiced only in America. That was the FIFTH time in U.S. history that the winner lost and the loser won.(The previous time was 2000, when the Republican Supreme Court robbed Al Gore of victory.) So the Democrats proceeded to blame Vladimir Putin for the outcome.)

What did Obama and the Democrats do during this outrageous subversion of the Constitutional duty of the president to fill court vacancies? Nothing much. Did you hear any outrage? Imagine if Democrats blocked a Republican president from filling a vacancy! They'd be threatening civil war- or starting one! It wasn't even a campaign issue in that year's presidential election (2020). So much for making sure the Supreme Court doesn't abolish the right to abortion! (Not to mention dozens of other ways the Supreme Court messes with people's lives.)

"Uhhh, you really thought I cared about YOU?"

Next we got the sociopathic, narcissistic con man Trump getting to fill FOUR seats on the court. He openly proclaimed that he would appoint people to overturn Roe vs. Wade. Yet during Senate confirmation hearings for these far-right-wing extremist ghouls, Democratic Senators went along with the pretense that this wasn't necessarily so. And in another example of a Democrat protecting a sex offender nominee, rightwing California Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein hid from her colleagues the fact that nominee Brett Kavanaugh attempted to rape a teenage girl (as well as having committed sexual offenses in college). His Federalist Society-approved picks included a fundamentalist religious fanatic, Amy Coney Barrett.

"Baby, it's back to coat hanger abortions for YOU!"

So we've got Scalia/Thomas/Kavanaugh/the Obama Rollover, and all the other reactionaries the Federal judiciary has been crammed with on all three levels (District, which try cases, Appeals, and the Supreme Court, which rejects 90% of attempted appeals, agreeing to review only a small number of cases a year so as not to interfere with the four months they're on vacation). You've probably noticed a pattern here. For at least the past 30 years or so, the Democrats have been accomplices to the Republicans in creating an arch-reactionary Supreme Court, indeed a revanchist one that is driving the U.S. back to a 19th century legal regime. Why does the "liberal" Democratic Party keep aiding and abetting the Republican packing of the virtually all-powerful Supreme Court with reactionaries? The fact that they are doing it is undeniable on the evidence. Their motives are two:

First, just as the awful reactionaries the Republicans run for president provide convenient bogeymen for the Democrats to run against, forcing many people to vote for the Democrats while holding their noses  (political extortion), so the specter of the Supreme Court overturning the Roe vs. Wade decision of 1973 which finally granted women a limited right to terminate pregnancies, has been a perennial fright campaign the Democrats trot out at every election. I've received years of fund-raising letters from the Democrats, such as from Nancy Pelosi, and their various committees, telling me how the Supreme Court "hangs in the balance" and thus so does "a woman's right to choose"- maybe if they weren't allergic to the word "abortion," the procedure wouldn't still be so stigmatized that most women still refuse to stand up and defend it. But now it looks like the Democrats cut it too close, as the high court they have helped create is about to strip women of the right to control their own bodies. NOW what, Democrats? Fucking assholes!

Second, and more fundamentally, the Democratic Party IS a right-wing party. It is just as imperialist as the Republicans, and just as dedicated to the perpetuation of corporate oligarchy as is the GOP (Gang Of Plunderers). It is not "better" than the GOP. It is merely somewhat less awful. Having a rightwing court is a useful backstop for when the Democratic politicians feel compelled to give in to pressure from their voters and actually pass some progressive legislation. They can rely on the reactionary Supreme Court to cancel the legislation by declaring it "Unconstitutional." There is always a slew of corporate and billionaire-funded reactionary dogs to bring legal challenges to such laws. So reactionary rich people pay reactionary anti-social freaks to sue and reactionary judges do the rest. It's a neat system. Reactionaries working hand in hand, in an organized system of repression and economic rapine. Works for the ultra-rich and their neo-fascist attack dogs. For the rest of us, not so much.

"We're one big happy SUPREME court!'

1] OSHA is the Occupational Safety and Health Agency, part of the Department of Labor. OSHA is a mostly toothless regulatory agency that is deliberately extremely underfunded and understaffed by Congress so it is unable to do its putative task of regulating all the workplaces in the U.S. for health and safety violations. Typically, when it happens to discover a violation (it only discovers a tiny percentage of them, we can safely assume, since it can rarely inspect most workplaces) the company is merely told to correct the violation. Sometimes a small fine is "proposed," which the company typically challenges and gets reduced. If a worker or workers are killed on the job, things are taken a bit more seriously, but the companies and their managers and executives still get away with what in many cases is murder. (For example, criminally negligent homicide, and depraved indifference homicide charges would apply in many cases.)

The sorry history of how U.S. companies are allowed to get away with maiming, killing, and sickening workers has been well documented in numerous books and articles, including in outlets like Mother Jones and The Nation magazines, and even in the rare major media story about a particular company.

Speaking of vicious businessmen, some years back there was a case in New York City, the Pymm Thermometer company. It made glass thermometers which are filled with mercury. It knowingly exposed its uneducated and naive workers to mercury vapors without respiratory protection. The result was a number of them were permanently maimed with holes in their brains. The local district attorney in Brooklyn brought criminal charges against I believe the company owner, and the jury convicted. The trial judge immediately threw out the convictions, and the criminals got away with it. This in "liberal " New York City, where the Democratic Party appoints its party hacks and  wired insiders as judges. (There is a charade of democracy in that the judges are on the ballot in elections but they never have any opposition candidates so like in China or the Soviet Union or Iraq under Saddam Hussein there is only one "choice.") 

The story was reported in The Village Voice weekly newspaper, a publication that reported what the "mainstream" media systematically hid, and it was gradually destroyed. But that's a long story. An internet search on "Pymm Thermometer" turned up a civil suit filed on behalf of Pymm's crippled working class victims, who can no longer earn a living and are reliant on the crumbs that poor unemployed people can squeeze from the government. The victims lost, and their case was dismissed, as the so-called "Workers Compensation" law barred them from suing. The NY state courts ruled that what Pymm did was NOT an "intentional tort"- BULLSHIT!- therefore the victims could only collect crumbs from Workers Comp. Thus do capitalist courts protect criminal businesspeople, in the U.S. version of capitalism.

Joe Manchin Is A Mass Murderer. Here's Why.

  Global Warming.

These two words are the proof. Here's what I mean.

The "Build Back Better" bill that the Democratic Party hierarchy, including virtually all its Congressional members and the president and vice president of the U.S. have been struggling to pass for months against the unyielding opposition of Manchin, contains the first concrete steps for the U.S. to actually do something about the global warming that is being caused primarily by the burning of fossil fuels. By in effect vetoing this proposed set of legislation before it even could come up for a vote in the Senate, Manchin is dooming everyone on earth to catastrophic climate change. More powerful and frequent destructive storms is a minor effect compared to the droughts that will eventually result in famines that will kill millions of people.

Without the U.S., the second leading cause of the problem after China, setting an example and taking on its responsibilities, it cannot persuade other nations to do likewise, and many will not.

After jerking around his party leadership, including the president of the U.S., Joe Biden, for months, in a long stalling process mislabeled "negotiations," during which time unilateral concession after unilateral concession was made to Manchin, whittling down what was originally a $6 trillion bill to $1.7 trillion spread out over 10 years, Manchin slapped Biden and the rest of the Democrats in the face by appearing without prior warning to them on the reactionary agit-propaganda "news" channel of Rupert Murdoch, Fox "News," on its Sunday political propaganda show on December 19th, to announce that he would not support the bill. (Of course it was obvious all along that he wouldn't. His long political tease finally ended. And yet the other Democrats, after a few hours of anger the next day, the Democrats were back to "negotiating" and saying they hadn't given up, that progress would be made- all the same delusional verbiate they'd been spewing for months.)

On Murdoch TV, Manchin rehashed a bunch of his well-rehearsed "concerns" and "reasons" for stonewalling the bill. (By the way, going on Fox is another indication of Manchin's reactionary nature. He could have gotten himself booked on any of the Sunday morning political propaganda shows that serve as platforms for D.C, insiders to bloviate on: on CBS, NBC, or ABC.) One of his main talking points was that he couldn't convince "the people" of West Virginia, his state, to support the bill because he couldn't "explain" it to them.

And let's be fair to Manchin: it is so very hard to explain global warming. You have to explain that burning oil and coal and natural gas releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Then you have to tell them that CO2 stays in the atmosphere and traps more heat from the sun. That heat warms up the air and water. That warming changes weather patterns, creating fiercer storms. Furthermore, it creates droughts that last for years, as happened in California. That leads to crop failures. And ice in Greenland, the north pole, and Antarctica is melting as a result, causing sea levels to rise which will eventually put coastlines and cities under water.

That is so abstruse and complex to explain! No WONDER it is apparently beyond the ken of the people of West Virginia to grasp! Why, they're just a bunch of simple country folk who only have their own common sense to rely on for understanding the world.

Thus does Manchin insult the intelligence of "his" constituents as well as the rest of us.

Joe Manchin is a smarmy, dishonest, manipulative piece of excrement. He is a humanoid, not a human.

 Joe Manchin is quite literally a mass murderer. That is not hyperbole. It is literal truth.

The fact that one person, and not even the president, but just one of 100 U.S. senators, has the power to do that much damage to the world and to all of humanity, is one more indication of just how pathological, twisted, and even diabolical the U.S. power structure is. [1]

One more fact that "the" media never mentions. That $1.7 trillion spread over 10 years averages $170 billion per year. Congress just voted an annual budget for the Pentagon of $770 billion, an increase of the year before, like every year. Next year it will grow larger still. It passed with barely any notice in "the" media, and no political sturm und drang. Unlike with that bill, nobody you hear in the establishment propaganda system ever screeches that the Pentagon budget is "inflationary" or complains "how is it going to be paid for?" or insists it be "revenue neutral" and "not add to the deficit." Thus are the priorities of the corporate imperialist state thrown into sharp relief once again. The people must serve the empire. Their needs are unimportant.

"SCREW YOU, HUMAN RACE!"

1] In case you don't already know, here is the weird political arrangement that makes Manchin powerful enough to overrule the President of the United States. The Senate, as per the U.S. Constitution, has two Senators from each of the 50 states that now exist. Thus 100 Senators. Currently there are 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans in the Senate. Tie votes are broken by the vice president of the U.S. The vice president of course is currently the Democrat Kamala Harris.

But two of those nominal Democratic Senators are functionally Republican Trojan Horses inside the Democratic Senate caucus: Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, who is bought by the pharmaceutical industry, and the notorious Joe Manchin.

And this body of corrupt millionaire jackals and drooling reactionaries like John Kennedy, the redbaiting Senator from Louisiana, and Ron Johnson, who defends the January 6th insurrectionists who attacked and occupied the Capitol as peaceful patriots, styles itself as "the world's greatest debating body." Unreal egomania there! (Johnson is the GOP Senator from Wisconsin, the state that gave us Senator Joe McCarthy. Kenosha, Wisconsin, is the Town From Hell that aided and abetted the murderous junior stormtrooper Kyle Rittenhouse.)

The U.S. Senate has long been an ultra-reactionary body. Part of that is their "seniority" system. So Southern racist segregationists and Senators from reactionary farm states would get repeatedly reelected and assume control of committees. Here one example of the numerous horrible consequences of this state of affairs. For decades. while thousands of African-Americans were tortured, murdered, and mutilated by mobs of white racist terrorists, these Senators blocks every attempt to pass a Federal anti-lynching law.

By the way, here's another way the U.S. Senate is truly awful. California has about 40 million people. They have 2 U.S. Senators. The approximately 20 least populous states also have about 40 million people. THOSE 40 million, most of them in small reactionary states like Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, the two Dakotas, etc., have FORTY Senators. "World's Greatest Democracy" my ass! The U.S. in this as in many other ways is profoundly ANTI-democratic!

But the populace is expected to worship this power structure and venerate its creators, the "Founding Fathers," as superhuman demigods. Even though they were elitists, many of whom "owned" human slaves as chattel, including the two main men, Washington and Jefferson, who owned hundreds of slaves. Washington was the richest man in America, by the way, a huge land speculator whose motive for rebelling against the British crown was his lust for more land. Which incidentally necessitated expulsion and genocide against the people who were already living there and whose ancestors arrived, according to the latest archeological and paleoarcheological evidence, around 30,000 or more years ago.

Incoming New York City Mayor Eric Adams Already Showing Off His Authoritarian Bent

 Eric Adams, who isn't actually the mayor until January 1st, 2022, is already barking at city lawmakers like a tinhorn dictator. 

Mayor-To-Be Adams announced a cancellation of the putative policy of his predecessor and current mayor, Bill "Big Talk" de Blasio to eliminate solitary confinement on the huge city jail complex on Rikers Island, itself just part of the vast city jail gulag spread over all fie boroughs and including a floating jail barge in one of the city's rivers. (A policy only partially implemented.)

In response, 29 members of the City Council, the elected 51-member legislative body of NYC, wrote a civil letter objecting to this, which they also released to the media.

In reaction to this, Adams burst forth in a public verbal tongue lashing of the letter writers, calling them "disruptive," asserting they had NO RIGHT to weigh in on the issue of solitary since none of them were police, as he had been, and vowing to ignore them. He was especially missed that they had released their letter to the media. In the letter, they cited expert and official opinion as to how solitary confinement can constitute torture.

Thus did Adams, a man with a very inflated sense of self-regard, deemed the council members who objected to his diktat as worthless people to be ignored.

Adams, an arrogant man with a grotesquely swollen ego, is a former NYPD police captain, a high rank. (NYPD is the gang sign for the New York City police department.) Adams ran on a "law and order" platform (i.e. promises of increased repression) during his campaign. (His Republican opponent, the egotistical career vigilante and reactionary radio "personality" Curtis Sliwa, did the same- some choice for voters! Appropriately, Sliwa whole-heartedly congratulated Adams on his election victory and eagerly pledged support to him.) Among other things, Adams specifically promised to reinstitute so-called "anti-crime" units, notorious plainclothes police cells that committed sufficient atrocities, including the murder of a harmless, unarmed immigrant, Amadou Diallo, who was slaughtered in a hail of 41 bullets by four of these hunters of human prey while standing on his own doorstep, which resulted in the abolishment of these units (though not of plainclothes police work per se). 

The fact that Adams couldn't restrain himself from contemptuously degrading the city council before he is even mayor is an ominous portent for the future.

"NOBODY can criticize ME!"

A note on solitary confinement in the U.S.: the UN deems imprisoning a person in solitary for more than 15 days to be torture. In the U.S., it is routine to subject people to such imprisonment- including people who haven't been convicted of crimes but are awaiting trial in jail, such as at Rikers- for months, years, even decades. Political prisoners such as members of the Black Panther Party have been imprisoned for up to 40 years in solitary, as happened in Louisiana. And of course the U.S. imprisons more people as a proportion of its population than any nation on earth. (Only China, with four times the population, imprisons more, counting the million Uyghurs China has locked up in slave labor-brainwashing prison camps.) With 4.5% of the world's population, the U.S. has 25% of the world's incarcerated people.  Medical care in U.S. prisons is abysmal, beating and murders by guards are rampant, the food is unhealthy. Communications between lawyers and inmates are routinely and illegally surveilled. 

The United States is a savagely repressive nation. In the greatest feat of propaganda gaslighting in history, the U.S. has brainwashed literally billions of people around the world into believing the U.S. is a "free" country, indeed the "freest" country ever, a beacon of human rights. 

Nothing, nothing, could be further from the truth.

The tragic fact is that from its (waning) position of world domination, unparalleled in world history, the U.S. COULD HAVE BEEN a force for good, for the advancement of democracy, human rights, and freedom, like it only PRETENDS to be.

Talk about a squandered opportunity in the history of homo sapiens.

Bill deBlasio's Excellent PR Adventure

  Bill de Blasio's two terms as Mayor of New York City have shown a certain consistency. A very fast-talking con man (he can talk his way around even the most pointed question that nails him dead to rights- for examples, listen to his weekly appearances on a certain radio program [1]), de Blasio's modus operandi is to gaslight people with grandiose "liberal" rhetoric while instituting reactionary policies behind people's backs. In this, he is in the mold of the Democratic Party's poohbah's, Obama and The Two Clintons. Indeed, de Blasio comes from the Clinton's machine, having managed Hillary Clinton's first campaign for U.S. Senate from New York State. If anything, Bill de Blasio is Bill Clinton on steroids, a guy who talks faster and is more disingenuous. An expert sophist, de Blasio manages to rationalize away any damning evidence against him.

Another consistency: he mostly did the opposite of what he promised to do as a candidate (and what he continually claims to be doing). His positive accomplishments are mainly one: pre-K school for children. Give him credit for that, and that's pretty much it. Otherwise it's betrayals and attacks on people's well-being.

Perhaps his most egregious crime has been his full-throated defense of police brutality. The city police (NYPD) brutally assaulted for months on end the protesters who took to the streets in the wake of the graphic murder of George Floyd by four Minneapolis, Minnesota police. De Blasio consistently vilified the victims of NYPD violence.

Now what is this Excellent Public Relations Adventure of which I spoke in the title? First this introduction to the theme.

One de Blasio scam was baiting people to get COVID vaccines by offering a $100 "incentive." Only they don't pay up. To illustrate the point, I could relate one person's attempt to get paid, an exercise in utter futility, but that story is too lengthy for this essay. Just briefly, the contractor that is supposed to pay, an outfit called "akimbo," doesn't mail the debit cards, doesn't respond to emails, and is unreachable by phone. City employees for their part put people on a runaround treadmill and tell the victims to inform "akimbo." To add injury to injury, "akimbo" makes extra money selling the emails of the vaccinated to spammers. Immediately after getting vaccinated, the vaccine-related spam starts arriving- the $100 debit card never does.

I have a suspicion that de Blasio never had any intention of paying people. At the least, he doesn't care.  He just wants to be able to boast about how he got people to submit to vaccination. 

Now, de Blasio's Excellent PR Adventure: He pulled a similar stunt to the "vaccine incentive" trick  the first week of December, when he announced- informing nobody in advance, and  consulting with no one, according to the New York Times- that henceforth businesses would be required to insist that their employees be vaccinated.  And that everyone, even children as young as five, would have to be vaccinated if they wanted to eat in a restaurant or enter any other public place. All 184,000 New York City businesses were now under Mayoral orders to REQUIRE all their employees to be vaccinated for the new coronavirus, and to screen all people entering their premises for COVID vaccination status. No exceptions, and no option to be tested for infection in lieu of vaccination.

The fact that there was no plan for any of this, and that he never even discussed it with city officials before announcing it, gives the game away. It's not real, but typical de Blasio smoke and mirrors.

Self-styled caudillo de Blasio's edict nominally takes effect December 27. De Blasio will stop being mayor on January 1st, 5 whole days later. His successor has been coy on whether he will enforce the decree of his predecessor. Even though there is no mechanism to enforce this imperial ukase, media in New York City has given a platform to the frenzied overreactions of a few selected  individuals from "the business community." Thus adding to the illusion that de Blasio actually DID something, as opposed to ANNOUNCING something. ANNOUNCING things that never actually happen has been a hallmark of de Blasio's mayoralty. He's very big on making Grand Announcements, such as there will be "zero traffic fatalities" in New York City, and how he'll build- indeed IS building, "affordable housing," a phrase he must have uttered hundreds of times. 

De Blasio has reaped national media attention for several days running so far for his latest stunt. He even got some international media coverage, for example by the BBC, the main global propaganda arm of the British government. That is the payoff.

But what is the point? Is de Blasio merely a political exhibitionist? Does he have an insatiable need for attention because of a swollen ego? Actually he's running for Governor of New York State (state capital is the city of Albany, a nothingburg far to the north). He's been term-limited out of the Mayoralty of New York City because of a law passed by the city's voters in a referendum, a law that a previous Mayor, Michael Bloomberg Billionaire, ignored and illegally ran for a third term, which he won. His opposition includes the current Governor, Kathy Hochul, who inherited the seat after Governor Andrew "The Molester" Cuomo was forced out and his mousy lieutenant governor, Ms. Hochul, was automatically elevated to the top job. Also vying to grab the top political rung in the state was state attorney general Letitia James, until she announced on December 9th she was quitting. On the same day, Hochul publicly endorsed James' reelection for state AG, indicating prearrangement between the two. Long Island Congressman Tom Suozzi is also running. (Another announced candidate for Governor in the 2022 election is Jumaane Williams, who was just elected last month as New York City Public Advocate. Ambitious, no?) These are all Democrats competing in the upcoming June Democratic Primary. [2]

Cuomo was finally exposed as a compulsive molester, and for his role in causing the deaths of thousands of elderly nursing home residents and covering it up. Those things, along with the media finally reporting what they knew for years, that Cuomo is a rage-filled, abusive bully, finally pried his fingers from the levers of power.

De Blasio is deeply unpopular in New York City, with 8 million people has almost half the state's population. Outside of the City, the state is quite reactionary, so de Blasio will have to jettison his fake-liberal outer garb. His opponents will try to keep him from getting away with it. But de Blasio is probably thinking back to how he won the city mayoralty. Low in the polls, he ran in a crowded field, which enabled him to emerge on top.

And de Blasio has "raised his profile" with his latest high-handed "mandate."

If de Blasio were somehow to climb up the next rung of the political ladder, he only good thing would be Andrew Cuomo damaging his teeth by gnashing them. Cuomo as Governor had a hobby of making de Blasio's life miserable. It appeared he did it just for sport, as a cat tortures a captive mouse. What poetic justice that would be for the venal, execrable Cuomo!

1]  For years, de Blasio has been hosted every Friday for an hour on "The Brian Lehrer Show" on "public" radio station WNYC, in New York City. WNYC.org. Brian Lehrer, a classic dweeb, always lets the Flim-Flam Man get away with his evasions. Callers who call in to complain about being screwed by the de Blasio regime would be parried with some Clintonian-like "I feel your pain" verbal jujitsu. No matter what he did, nothing could ever be de Blasio's fault.

 

De Blasio is more slippery than a greased eel and can seemingly fast-talk his way out of anything. While Trump could shoot someone dead on Fifth Avenue in broad daylight and not lose any support, as he boasted, de Blasio could do it and talk his way out of it with a gusher of verbiage.

2] Letitia James gave as a reason to remaining in theattorney general spot ongoing important cases. These cases are a civil suit against the crook Donald Trump, who inflates the value of his assets to get bank loans, and deflates them on his tax returns. She is also working to strip the National Rifle Association of its registration as a charity in New York State, stemming from the major corruption by its top officials who have used millions of NRA funds for personal expenditures. The NRA tried to evade liability by filing a frivolous bankruptcy claim, which the courts rejected.
 

China Confirms Yet Again Their Lab Leaked the Coronavirus- Their Guilty Behavior Keeps Making It Obvious

 

 The Chinese rulers are now blocking a renewed attempt by international health investigators to trace the origin of the coronavirus that causes COVD-19. They are rudely rebuffing them and adding the absurd demand that other countries be investigated as the possible source of the virus! Trying to shift blame to other countries in the face of the obvious fact that the disease started in China.

The behavior of the Chinese rulers reeks of guilt. 

If the Chinese were actually half as sure as they pretend to be that the virus didn't leak from their lab, the innocently-named Wuhan Institute of Virology, they would WELCOME and indeed INVITE an international investigation of the lab. Instead they have made sure to prevent that, and going much farther, have attacked anyone suggesting even the possibility of a lab leak!

Last November the Chinese government imposed 200% tariffs on Australian wine imports, which before that amounted to a billion dollars a year in sales for Australia. This was done to punish Australia for suggesting an investigation into the origins of the new coronavirus outbreak.

China has a history of leaking viruses from their labs. On four known occasions coronaviruses leaked from a Beijing lab. And who knows how many other times that they kept secret, and how many other microbes escapes from their labs.

I proved on April 12, by examining the evidence of the behavior of Chinese officialdom, that the virus originated in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The proof is the heavy-handed cover-up, which included threatening doctors with prison, denying access to investigators, including from the World Health Organization, putting out disinformation, and repeatedly attacking anyone and any government that so much as suggests investigating the origin of the virus- behavior which continues to this day.

The 1921 Tulsa, Oklahoma Massacre Wasn't A "Race Riot," It Was A Pogrom

 U.S. propaganda media are referring to the utter destruction of the entire African-American community of Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1921 as a "race riot." This is deceptive.

A riot is a spontaneous outburst of mob violence. A pogrom is an organized, pre-planned attack on a minority community that is already oppressed. 

Pogrom's are organized by government authorities, who employ mobs along with police and in the case of Tsarist Russia, soldiers, to carry out a mass terrorist attack on a besieged community.

What happened in Tulsa in 1921 was organized by the local power structure. The town newspaper incited the attack. The local government, including the police, aided and abetted it. (No one can deny they did zero to stop it.) The assault lasted two days and a night, May 31 and June 1. 35 square city blocks were destroyed. (The Washington Post says 45.) Where was the Governor? Where was the President? Where were the state police, the National Guard, the U.S. Army? 

 The white racists of Tulsa looted the homes and businesses of the African-American citizens before razing the entire neighborhood of Greenwood. An estimated 300 African-Americans were murdered. A plane was used in an aerial bombardment of the area. In the aftermath, no criminal charges were ever brought for the thousands of felonies, including murders, that were committed. That fact alone proves official approval. No compensation has ever been paid.

Now, thanks to various social activists and writers and a handful of historians making noise about this buried crimes for a number of years, the U.S. power establishment has jumped to the head of the march. The propaganda system is suddenly reporting something it kept hidden for years Even the president of the U.S. has gotten into the act, declaring one of the two dates of the pogrom a "day of remembrance,." Wringing its hands, the power establishment feigns sympathy, distancing itself from a crime it managed to keep "secret" for a hundred years. Now "the" media is acting like it didn't hide the fact of the pogrom for a century. The establishment's propaganda system has assiduously avoided mentioning that this major historical event is kept secret from students, who are never told of it, nor is it mentioned in their textbooks. The propagandists also conveniently neglect to mention that not a dime of compensation has ever been paid for the wanton looting and destruction. Nor is any mention made of making actual amends for the crime- which is why we are on safe ground saying that the sympathy is feigned. [1]

By waiting a century to even admit the existence of this event, the system has outlasted all but three of the victims - only one, who was 7 years old at the time, with any useful memory of the event- of the largest incident of violent racial oppression in U.S. history. (At least, the largest we know about. Who knows what else has been hidden all these years?)

Oppression is the key word here. The "madness" had a logic. It was not merely an emotional explosion of hate that made no sense. The black community of Greenwood was prosperous. It's residents were independent and successful. It's very existence constituted a threat to the white supremacist social order in two ways. First, the visible economic success of the blacks put the lie to the foundational myth of white supremacy, that "whites" are inherently superior to "blacks," who are an innately inferior species of being. Second, throughout U.S. history, including to the present day, white prosperity depends in part on the ability to economically exploit blacks, starting with the hyper-exploitation of slavery. The ability to exploit by keeping people in menial jobs at low pay and no benefits requires that the victims have no other options, and are not independent. Thus Greenwood NEEDED to be destroyed as an economic imperative. [2]

Again, the establishment power structure is on the job, making sure people don't understand this by not mentioning any of it.

Oklahoma is a major oil producing state. It is also one of the most reactionary states in the U.S. If the "whites" there think it's "unfair' that they "should have to pay for something they didn't do," (I guess it's fairer to rob and murder black people and not compensate them) then let them levy a special tax on the oil industry there and pay the descendants decent money. Throughout U.S. history every effort has been made to keep "blacks" impoverished, to impede their economic advancement in every way possible. Not just he obvious ways like job discrimination, which can be blamed on individual bigotry, hiding the role of institutional racism (which the Republicans deny exist!, including, most disgustingly, the black opportunist Tim Scott, GOP Senator from South Carolina) ) [3]

The failure to face reality honestly in the case of the 1921 Tulsa pogrom has a parallel in the failure to face reality in the January 6 coup attempt earlier this year. The attempt by Donald J. Trump to remain in office by a blatant seizure of power is being called a "riot," or sometimes an "insurrection," when was plainly on its face a failed coup. The whole point of storming the Capitol was to stop the certification of Biden as the winner of the November 2020 presidential election. This was explicit. Trump himself personally instigated the mob invasion of the Capitol just minutes before the mob swarmed the building. Trump even named specific individuals as targets, including his own vice president, Michael Pence. Yet Democrats and media figures say there is a need to investigate "to find out what happened." You really don't now what happened? That is a radical denial of reality.

An unhealthy person is one who cannot face reality. Likewise an unhealthy country is also.

The "Black Wall Street Gallery" in the neighborhood of Soho in Manhattan was defaced on the "day of remembrance," its sign obliterated with WHITE paint, the message being "We Erase You!" The obliterated neighborhood of Greenwood in Tulsa was referred to at the time as "the black Wall Street." No doubt that was yet another provocation which the white supremacists of the era found intolerably insulting to their unwarranted sense of superiority. In fact, like Nazis, they are inferior to normal human beings.

2]  Entire books and studies have been written about the systematic economic repression of African-Americans post slavery. Starting with the failure to make good on the promise of "40 acres and a mule" to give freed slaves an economic stake, instead consigning them to the neo-slavery of forced prison labor and peonage of sharecropping, on through the insistence of Southern Democrats in Congress that New Deal programs like the minimum wage and Social Security be designed to exclude farm laborers and house maids- i.e. blacks- to the racist covenants in home deeds barring sales to blacks, to discriminatory Federal housing policies, redlining by banks, the refusal of the Agriculture Department to provide black farmers with access to aid programs they were entitled to, virtually wiping out American black farmers as a class, to the organized assault on black homeowners by mortgage fraudsters- the list is practically endless, and entire books have been written about each specific example. But one must step back from scrutinizing individual trees to perceive the forest of racist oppression as a whole. American white racists even went so far as to deliberately build highways through black inner city neighborhoods, using "urban renewal" as an excuse to wipe them out and scatter their inhabitants to the winds. Probably the worst of these culprits was Robert Moses, an unelected infrastructure "czar" whom the venal politicians of New York State empowered to rampage through poor neighborhoods in this fashion, not only destroying communities, tearing to shreds the social fabric of the people living there, but bringing in more polluting motor vehicles to cause disease and death. Moses was such an awful racist that he ordered bridge overpasses on the highway leading to Jones Beach to be made too low for buses to pass below them. He wanted to make sure that poor black and Hispanic families without cars couldn't go to the each. This humanoid piece of excrement was so evil he went out of his way to prevent children who were the wrong "color" from enjoying the seashore and the ocean. How loathsome can you get? And how despicable is a political system that empowers such as this creature? Robert Caro wrote a detailed book on Moses' numerous crimes against humanity, although the book is flawed by a lack of appropriate moral outrage. Caro was fascinated by the nature of power, and how Moses managed to acquire it.

Lest you think such gratuitously racist attitudes such as Moses' are a thing of the past, it wasn't long ago when shrewish rightwing propagandist Megyn Kelly shouted at her TV audience that "SANTA CLAUS IS WHITE!," just to try and make "black" children feel inferior and left out. Santa Claus of course is an IMAGINARY BEING and thus CAN BE ANY "COLOR" ANYONE WANTS HIM TO BE, you loathsome racist bitch!

3]  No surprise, after I wrote this [but before posting, as I was still editing], the Republican mayor of Tulsa said it wouldn't be "fair" to make "taxpayers" (presumably only "whites" pay taxes in Oklahoma!) pay for something "criminals" did long ago. Sooo predictable! In fact, I predicted it!

I Already Proved On April 12 That The New Coronavirus Escaped From A Chinese Lab. Now the U.S. Establishment Is Beginning to Catch Up With Me

 

 Six weeks ago I posted an essay that proved that the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 disease originated as a leak from a Chinese research laboratory. [Link below- Footnote 1.] 

First of all, let me say that proof is a bit like beauty, in that it's in the eye of the beholder. Proof is, quite simply, that which convinces someone that something is true. We can see a cop murdering a person on video, yet to cop-lovers and other cops, the video proves no such thing. In mathematics there are agreed rules for proof. No other area has such precise rules, not even the sciences, where there is some subjectivity and interpretation. And in every other area, there are no real rules, because people ignore the basic rules of logic when it suits them, and deny or ignore facts they don't like.

Nevertheless, I made a cogent case, based mainly on the behaviour of Chinese state authorites and those under their control, that this disease-causing virus originated as a leak from the notorious Wuhan Institute of Virology lab in Wuhan, China. You need to read my original essay. To briefly summarize some of the main points:

- When Chinese doctors first spotted signs of the disease, the police threatened them with prison for "spreading rumors," which stopped an incipient medical response.

-The Chinese regime reacts violently to any calls for investigating the origin of the disease. When the Australian government called for an investigation, the Chinese immediately applied punitive tariffs on Australian imports to China.

-The Chinese regime stonewalled the World Health Organization for months on doing an investigation. When they finally allowed a WHO team into Wuhan, it was closely chaperoned and not permitted to actually investigate. Instead they were spoonfed a Chinese "investigation" which dismissed the possibility of a lab leak out of hand and instead suggested frozen food as a disease vector, an absurdity in this case.

Since I last wrote on this, more damning evidence has emerged. Three workers from the notorious Wuhan lab were hospitalized in November 2019, with symptoms of COVID-19, before the first acknowledged cases in China. (The Wall Street Journal reported this, and it was picked up by other media outlets.) And every time the Chinese react with extreme defensiveness and screech outraged rhetoric at suggestions that further (that is, actual and not performative) investigation is called for, that constitutes more evidence that they feel a strong need to hide something. That something is obviously the lab leak.

Furthermore, contrary to the false and pacifying claims by U.S. government bureaucrat Dr. Anthony Fauci and by other Americans with ties to the Wuhan lab, that lab is NOT a highly secure facility. Fauci and others have emitted a smokescreen of reassuring, anodyne, misleading statements all along on that score. The Wuhan lab doesn't operate at top level biosecurity. Leaks are common at such labs. In fact, there are at least 6 prior known escapes of coronaviruses from research labs. Four of these occurred in Beijing, China's capital, and one each in Singapore and Taiwan. [2]

We are also seeing nails put in the coffin of the alibi that the outbreak originated in the "live animal" market in Wuhan. Hundreds of samples were taken from the market. The number of positive coronavirus results? Zero. And the "live animals" sold at the market were reptiles only, which cannot be infected with this virus. Only dead mammal meat was sold there, which cannot infect humans.  [3]

Much of the resistance to accepting the apparent fact of the true origin of the virus stems from the fact that the hated Donald Trump said it. Since the Democrats and the vast constellation of media assets allied with them in an anti-Trump front felt duty-bound to oppose most anything Trump uttered, this inclined them ti dismiss the idea of a Chinese lab leak as a baseless smear. 

But not every single thing Trump says is false, as mindless Democrats and their media allies believe. I despise Trump as much as anyone, but that hasn't caused me to lose my ability to evaluate reality objectively. Trump indeed tells thousands of lies, and some number of falsehoods which he believes (telling which bits of his nonsense he actually believes is not always easy). But even Trump occasionally makes true statements. To think otherwise is irrational.

The dam of denial started to break earlier this year, when U.S. government career medical bureaucrat, former Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield said in March that  he believes “the most likely etiology of this pathology in Wuhan was from a laboratory." The pressure increased earlier this month when 18 prominent virologists managed to get Science magazine to publish their letter saying the possibility of a leak from the Wuhan lab deserved study.  (Science, the premiere U.S. science journal, is the publication of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.) Exercising scientific caution, they won't say it happened until they see biological evidence. The rest of us are free to consider ALL the evidence in drawing a conclusion. As I have shown, the behavior of the Chinese "authorities" is pretty definitive in this regard.

U.S. president Biden just ordered the U.S. "intelligence community" to investigate the source of the outbreak. If the secret police had read my mid-April expose, they'd have a leg up. [4]

The government buraucrat Saint Anthony Fauci (at least that's how much of the media treats him and a large swath of the population regards him- as a saint), supple public relations man/propagandist that he is, has smoothly slinked away from his prior position that the virus DEFINITELY did NOT leak from the Wuhan lab. What he's been saying NOW is for example this stuff: "Because we don't know 100% what the origin is, it's imperative that we look and we do an investigation:" "I said I’m perfectly in favor of any investigation that looks into the origin of the virus;” “That possibility [a lab accident in Wuhan] certainly exists, and I am totally in favor of a full investigation of whether that could have happened;” and "no one knows not even I 100% what the origin is including me. That's why we favor further investigation." Not even the Great Fauci knows for sure!

Fauci is a political cat who always lands on his feet. 

Fauci is an extremely successful bureaucrat, having held the same high level position as director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for nearly 40 years. Fauci is the guy who early in the pandemic told people masks were no good and you shouldn't wear them. Asked to explain this later, when he took the diametrically opposite tack, he said "we" were worried about mask shortages for medical personnel. In other words, he'll be dishonest in order to manipulate the public. We are people to be acted upon by this character.

So we should discount what Fauci has to say about this. The only interest in his pronouncements will be watching how he smoothly inches his way over to the most politic position of the moment for him. If and when the U.S. establishment consensus is that yes indeed, the virus was a lab leak, he'll be telling us that he never ruled that out as a possibility (which will be a lie). He's an expert at parsing words so he never admits error or is caught in a blame-worthy position.  He is first and foremost a government bureaucrat, all of whose public pronouncements are designed to manipulate the public, to cause a political or social effect. But Fauci's newfound openness to at least investigating the possibility of a lab leak in Wuhan has inadvertently provided more confirmation that that's exactly what happened. Chinese state media are now calling Fauci "morally degenerate." (No gratitude for the year Fauci spent deflecting suspicion away from them!) 

If the lab was blameless, the Chinese would WELCOME an investigation to exonerate the lab and themselves! Instead they go ballistic at the mere suggestion of looking into the matter.. You know what that proves?

Guilty as charged.

A year ago, Fauci got the usual glorifying treatment in this National Geographic puff piece from May 4, 2020. Notice the straw man argument headline: "No scientific evidence the coronavirus was MADE in a Chinese lab." The issue isn't whether it was man-made. The issue is a leak of the virus into the environment. "Proving" the virus was not artificially engineered was speciously used to assert the disease outbreak did not come from the lab. Which of course is sophistry. What research labs study is organisms from nature.

Strong Evidence The Novel Coronavirus Originated In A Chinese Lab. Here's The Evidence

 Think back to what happened when the new coronavirus disease (now dubbed COVID-19) was first noticed by doctors in Wuhan, China. This is never mentioned anymore, but it should be, because it is highly significant.

A few doctors noticed new, unusual illnesses in patients and began communicating about it to each other. The police hauled them in and threatened them with prison for "spreading rumors," telling them in no uncertain terms to SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Why would a government feel threatened by doctors alerting each other to cases of a new illness?

The "explanation" that the U.S. media peddled at the time, apparently taking their lead from Chinese propaganda, was that the Wuhan bosses feared looking bad to their superiors in Beijing. That "explanation" makes zero sense, if you spend about 10 seconds thinking about it.

The local goons constituting "authority" in Wuhan were afraid of making a bad impression on their superiors if they acted quickly to deal with a disease outbreak.

Whereas they would look GOOD if they forced the doctors to keep quiet, not alert the medical community, take NO steps to deal with the disease, and allow it to spread. Right. Got it.

That is some of the purest BULLSHIT there is.

The behavior of the Wuhan "authorities" (political power bosses) ONLY makes sense if they were COVERING UP A STATE CRIME. Their behavior is how rulers behave when they are hiding criminality, malfeasance, or culpability by the state. We've seen the pattern hundreds of times all over the world, including often in the U.S., where whistleblowers are routinely raided by the FBI, indicted, and imprisoned.

This is prima facie evidence that the state was guilty of causing the outbreak.

More evidence: Chinese stonewalling on allowing outside investigations. In fact, after Australia called for such an investigation, the Chinese regime punished Australia by imposing stiff import tariffs on important Australian products. The regime reacts with fury if anyone even MENTIONS doing a real investigation.

 Sounds like someone has something to hide, now doesn't it?

That something was an experiment with a virus that went badly awry. It could have been a non-military experiment, or part of bioweaponry research.

U.S. medical bureaucrat Anthony Fauci has put up a smokescreen of reassuring rhetoric to absolve the Chinese of this possibility. This is the same guy who early on in the pandemic told Americans not to wear face masks. This was terrible MEDICAL advice, and he KNEW it at the time. 

But Fauci wasn't acting as a physician when he discouraged Americans from wearing face masks to protect themselves, even though he pretended he was. He was acting as a government medical bureaucrat. It later emerged that his motive was to prevent a run on masks that might lead to shortages of masks for medical personnel. Fauci and the bureaucracy decided that the public needed to be tricked in order to place a higher priority on medical staff. Later, when confronted with the contradiction between this early "medical advice" and the subsequent incessant exhortations to mask up, Fauci spoke as if it was other people who said don't wear masks.

This wasn't the only dishonesty by Fauci. As problems have emerged with the Johnson & Johnson and Astra-Zeneca vaccines, including fatal blood clots in young women from the latter vaccine, Fauci has papered over the facts with assertions that the vaccines are safe and people should take them. The entire U.S. propaganda system has toed this line. (Johnson & Johnson gave thousands of people cancer by selling talcum powder contaminated with asbestos, doing this for years in utter contempt of its customers. Not exactly a trustworthy company. If you want to trust their vaccine data, go ahead, you trusting soul you.)

Meanwhile the Chinese rulers stubbornly stick to their coverup. After months of stalling and stonewalling, the Chinese regime finally allowed a team of "investigators" from the World Health Organization (a UN agency virtually under Chinese control since Trump pulled the U.S. out of it, one of the numerous destructive acts this pathological liar and narcissist committed in four years as president of the U.S., culminating in his failed coup attempt of January 6, 2021). This UN team was held on a short leash by the Chinese, controlling all their movements, and spoon fed them data. The W.H.O. dupes did no real investigating. They went to the market that we are supposed to believe the outbreak originated from, and talked to people there. What possible use this could be, a year later, is unexplained. W.H.O. then told the world that the virus probably didn't originate in a Chinese laboratory.

But there IS another plausible explanation for the behavior of the Wuhan apparatchiks over a year ago. Maybe they were afraid of presenting rising disease statistics to their superiors in the tyrannical hierarchy. Maybe they feared being condemned for poor performance over something beyond their control. Maybe they thought they could hide a budding epidemic if they just didn't report it.

 Now, I don't know, perhaps the party apparatchiks running Wuhan were really that stupid. It's possible. People operating within a rigid totalitarian system are often forced to behave in irrational ways  that are incredibly dumb. So it can't be ruled out entirely.

I just got some insight into how crazy-making the Chinese totalitarian system is, and how the apparatchiks and enforcers within that system have virtually no room for independent judgment and action from an article in The New Yorker magazine detailing the experience of a Kazakh woman, loyal to China, who was sucked into the "reeducation" system in China for no reason at all. It provides a very detailed look at the remorseless system of Chinese oppression of human beings from the inside, and how irrational that system can be.  [1]

China is run by a one-party dictatorship that imprisons lawyers who represent citizens who sue officials who rob them, that disappears workers who complain about conditions of work into a vast gulag of brainwashing prisons. Anyone who dares speak out is guilty of the "crime" of "picking quarrels and causing trouble." This is not a trustworthy state. [2]

In any event, the dictatorship is still working assiduously to keep their coronavirus dirt hidden under the rug of propaganda and lies. And now the Chinese regime is making hay by spreading its vaccine around the world, scoring Goodwill points. Only thing is, it's a crappy vaccine. Latest statistics from Brazil, for example, show it having an efficacy rate of 50.4%, just barely acceptable.

But not to worry. Chinese officials and their propagandists and stooges will lie about that, and the Good Dr. Fauci will manage to put a positive spin on that too. He just LOVES the vaccines, ALL of them!
